BIC Center & WVBI
2020 GALA AUCTIONIn light of the uncertainty about our ability to gather in person this summer for our traditional Gala Dinner, the Gala Auction team decided to move to an online auction format. We’ve setting up an online auction site that you can visit from anywhere. No need to come to the Community Center to bid. If you’d like to donate an item for the auction, there is still time. Scroll down to learn more.
Moving Online
Looking good
The BIC Center Auction Site
If you’ve ever bid on an item on eBay, you have an idea of how the BIC Center auction site works. Bidders see pictures and a description of the item up for auction. Bids are confirmed with an email to the bidder and they are notified by email if they are outbid to encourage competition. Winning bidders check out at the site and have the option to pay by credit card or mailing in a check. After payment is received, physical items will be shipped to the winner (although some large or delicate items may require on-site pickup).
Donating an Auction Item
We’ve made it easy for you to donate an item for the auction. You can contact either of our Gala Auction Co-chairs (Lita Popke or Ron Wojan) or our CEO (Marcy Dean) to set up a donation. Phone or email is fine. They’ll collect information about the item or, if you prefer, you can provide the information using an online form. Then, you can either arrange a time for a contact free drop-off of your gift at the BIC Center or ship it. After we receive the item we’ll send a tax receipt. That’s it.
At the Heart of a Great Community
What your donation supports

Music & Theater
The McDonough’s Market Theater at the BIC Center is the island’s premiere performance space. Each summer sees a flurry of music and theater performances with something for almost everyone. Performers and audiences enjoy theater grade seating, lighting and sound and are always ready to come back for more. AN assitive hearing system is available

Community info & Events
The BIC Center hosts countless community meetings and events of all sizes. “Let’s meet at the Community Center and come up with plan,” is a common starting point for many an important project. Our Ray & Ann Stanhop Welcome Center is often the first stop for new arrivals. It’s the head end for the Birding Trail and Water Trail, the site of senior exercise classes, summer yoga, Pickelball and more.

Movies & more family fun
Our theater is for more than song and drama. It also includes a projection system and top notch sound system used to present movies new and old. Upstairs in the Ray & Ann Stanhope Hangout visitors find a variety of opportunities for family fun including a pool table, Foosball, video games, board games and more That plus a priceless view of Paradise Bay.

a place to work, chill or snack
Looking for a place to get online? Print a document? Send a fax? Join a conference call or meet with fellow islanders? The BIC Center has space for that. Or, you can just drop in to chill while we wait for others or wait out a shower. Hungry? Check out our concession stand for a quick lunch or a snack.
