It’s mid-August and the cicadas are singing their late summer songs.  But there is stil plenty of summer to come and lots of great entertainment to go with it at the BIC Center.

The Way Down Wanderers – Tickets – The Outer Space ...On August 31 at 8 the Robert Gillespie Memorial Theater will come alive again with a performance by The Way Down Wanderers. Equal parts fast-paced and soulful, The Way Down Wanderers draw listeners in with energy, originality and soulful generosity. Playing, performing and writing together for just 3 short years, the Wanderers have built an enthusiastic and fast-growing following. Youthful and professionally trained, these young men captivate audiences with soaring instrumentals, foot stomping sing-alongs and a lively stage show and have created a buzz for themselves with their unplugged, off-stage encores and propensity for performing self-titled, “restSTOMPS” – free acoustic sets at rest & truck stops along their tour routes.

Tickets are $25 and on sale now at the BIC Center front desk.

On September 21st, Kennedy’s Kitchen will be here.  Kennedy’s Kitchen is all things Irish from pub songs and sing-a-longs, stories, recitation, to ripping dance tunes; from pounding on the tables to crying in your beer. Its voices raised in song, rich harmonies, fiddle, flute, whistle, mandolin, tenor banjo, bouzouki, guitar, and bass . . . when they are being serious; and every now and again, a kazoo or two. They sing and play from the deep tradition while also composing our own tunes, songs, and recitations.  It’s a perfect wrap up to a tenth anniversary summer season of music at the BIC Center.  The show is at 8 on Spetember 21st. Tickets are $25 and on sale now at the BIC Center front desk.
