August keeps the good times a rollin’ on Island time!
Can you believe August is already here?! As the ‘Baroque on Beaver Classical Music Festival’ unfolds all over the Island, PABI prepares for ‘Beaver Island’s Finest Garage Sale’ on Saturday & Sunday, August 5 from 10am to 4pm, and August 6 from 12 to 4pm at the Welke Hangar at the Welke Airport. If you have any unbroken, high-quality items you wish to donate to the cause (all items are fully tax-deductible, with proceeds benefitting the Preservation of Beaver Island, owning and operating the Beaver Island Community Center and WVBI 100.1 FM, The Voice of Beaver Island, Beaver Island’s Community Radio Station), you can drop them off August 2nd, 3rd or 4th at the Welke Hangar from 11am – 2pm. (First Drive on the right heading south after the ‘Low Flying Aircraft’ sign). See you there!
What’s at the BIC Center?
The Welcome Center
The front room of our first floor is a Welcome Center. It is a great place to get information, grab a snack, connect to Wi-Fi and kick off your island adventure. It’s also home to the office of the Island’s Chamber of Commerce.
BIC Center Theater
The BIC Center Theater is the premier performance space on the island hosting music of all genres, dance, theater productions, movies, seminars and community meetings. Check here for complete information on upcoming events.
The Hangout
Our Hangout upstairs offers an informal gathering place for meetings, reading, pool, board games, video games, TV, using our community PCs and printer, and … just hanging out. Also there are studios for the community’s radio station…our very own WVBI-The Voice of Beaver Island.
