Island time is the best of times.
Many adventures are available at the BIC Center for your Island time this week. PABI’s Annual Summer Gala Wednesday is a fun evening in support of the BIC Center and WVBI with some of the best ‘shopping’ on the Island. King Strange takes to the Ray and Ann Stanhope Theatre stage Friday with music that “swaddles the ears and rattles the hips” featuring honey-dripping harmonies and cross-cultural instrumentation. And of course there are wonderful Yoga classes M, W & F, movies on Tuesdays and all that neat stuff in Carol’s Hangout.
What’s at the BIC Center?
The Welcome Center
The front room of our first floor is a Welcome Center. It is a great place to get information, grab a snack, connect to Wi-Fi and kick off your island adventure. It’s also home to the office of the Island’s Chamber of Commerce.
BIC Center Theater
The BIC Center Theater is the premier performance space on the island hosting music of all genres, dance, theater productions, movies, seminars and community meetings. Check here for complete information on upcoming events.
The Hangout
Our Hangout upstairs offers an informal gathering place for meetings, reading, pool, board games, video games, TV, using our community PCs and printer, and … just hanging out. Also there are studios for the community’s radio station…our very own WVBI-The Voice of Beaver Island.
