What a summer! But, there’s more to come…

Dual performances of Beaver Tales wrapped up our summer season for 2022 and launched us into fall. Now, movies are back in the BIC Center Theater. We had almost 50 people in the house for Top Gun Maverick last weekend. This Friday, we’ll have another blockbuster on our big screen with fantastic sound. It’s Elvis at 7:00 Friday evening. For the rest of the month, our movies will be on Saturday evenings at 7:00. Next weekend will be the latest hit from the Marvel storybook: Thor: Love and Thunder. And, on the 29th, just in time for Halloween, we have Hocus Pocus 2. That’s right. The three wicked witch sisters are back in a Disney film that will be great fun for the whole family. Look for some special events at the BIC Center ahead of the show.

As we head into fall and some additional special events (more on that later), we are taking time to plan for our summer season for next year. We’d like your help with that. Coming up next month we have some special holiday events on tap, a presentation about the legacy of the Bradley, and a full slate of movies (including Saturday afternoon matinees for the kids). In December, our movies will continue along with special Christmas season events (including cookie decorating). And, we are working with the Beaver Island Performing Arts Alliance to bring you a very special Christmas concert here at the BIC Center.

What’s at the BIC Center?

The Welcome Center

The front room of our first floor is a Welcome Center. It is a great place to get information, grab a snack, connect to Wi-Fi and kick off your island adventure. It’s also home to the office of the Island’s Chamber of Commerce.

BIC Center Theater

The BIC Center Theater is the premier performance space on the island hosting music of all genres, dance, theater productions, movies, seminars and community meetings. Check here for complete information on upcoming events.

The Hangout

Our Hangout upstairs offers an informal gathering place for meetings, reading, pool, board games, video games, TV, using our community PCs and printer, and … just hanging out. Also there are studios for the community’s radio station…our very own WVBI-The Voice of Beaver Island.
