More great music at the BIC Center
This Friday the Robert Gillespie Memorial Theater will be filled with blues, folk, pop and rock as multi-instrumentalist Trina Hamlin takes to the stage. With a rich, powerful voice, Hamlin reveals a rare confluence of Midwestern innocence, contemplative focus, and raw passion while adding a disarmingly sharp wit in her stage banter. She seamlessly moves from guitar to piano with self accompaniment on harmonica leaving many who have seen her wondering what she can’t do. Having earned a degree in professional music from Berklee College in Boston, she graduated to the club scene in New York City with the band Blue Leaves, and has gone on to write and co-produce five albums of her own. Trina has shared the stage with Taj Majal, Charlie Musslewhite, John Hiatt and Ricki Lee Jones, to name a few.
Tickets for her show are $25 and on sale now at the front desk at the BIC Center.
At the end of the month the stage will come alive again with a performance by The Way Down Wanderers. Equal parts fast-paced and soulful, The Way Down Wanderers draw listeners in with energy, originality and soulful generosity. Playing, performing and writing together for just 3 short years, the Wanderers have built an enthusiastic and fast-growing following. Youthful and professionally trained, these young men captivate audiences with soaring instrumentals, foot stomping sing-alongs and a lively stage show and have created a buzz for themselves with their unplugged, off-stage encores and propensity for performing self-titled, “restSTOMPS” – free acoustic sets at rest & truck stops along their tour routes.
Tickets are $25 and on sale now at the BIC Center front desk.
