Join us here at 1:00 on Saturday to celebrate this milestone in the lives of these young islanders and help send them on their way with best wishes for every success. Plus, watch for movies every weekend we don’t have a Saturday evening event as well as our regular exercise, yoga and computer help sessions.
And speaking of movies, we have two great ones this weekend. Our Saturday matinee at 3 is Early Man. From the folks who brought you Wallace and Gromit, it’s a hilarious, atop motion clay animation romp around prehistoric earth. At 7, travel forward in time with Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time. Who knew the time-space continuum could be such an adventure!?
It’s going to be a busy, fun-filled 10th Anniversary summer at your Beaver Island Community Center–where island adventures begin.
What’s at the BIC Center?
The Welcome Center
The front room of our first floor is a Welcome Center. It is a great place to get information, grab a snack, connect to Wi-Fi and kick off your island adventure. It’s also home to the office of the Island’s Chamber of Commerce.
BIC Center Theater
The BIC Center Theater is the premier performance space on the island hosting music of all genres, dance, theater productions, movies, seminars and community meetings. Check here for complete information on upcoming events.
The Hangout
Our Hangout upstairs offers an informal gathering place for meetings, reading, pool, board games, video games, TV, using our community PCs and printer, and … just hanging out. Also there are studios for the community’s radio station…our very own WVBI-The Voice of Beaver Island.
