First Concert of 2018
Join us on Friday, March 2, at noon for the first concert of our 10th season. The Cummings String Quartet will perform in the Robert Gillespie Memorial Theater with a special guest appearance by students from the BICS Strings Program. It’s the first of many live music events at the BIC Center in 2018. It’ll be a great break on a cold winter day.
Have you made your annual donation to the BIC Center? We depend on you for the support that keeps our doors open, and every contribution is important no matter the size. Please consider the value brought to our community by the Community Center and WVBI and, if you haven’t already done so, make your contribution today.
And don’t forget about the 2018 Ice Classic. All you need to do to win is predict the date and time this spring that the Ice Classic Tower will fall through the ice. Tickets are just $5 each or six for $20. You must get your completed ticket in by March 21 at 5:00 p.m. Entries may be made by U.S. Mail to the BIC Center or you may hand your completed ticket to any PABI board member or to any BIC Center staff member while at the BIC Center.
What’s at the BIC Center?
The Welcome Center
The front room of our first floor is a Welcome Center. It is a great place to get information, grab a snack, connect to Wi-Fi and kick off your island adventure. It’s also home to the office of the Island’s Chamber of Commerce.
BIC Center Theater
The BIC Center Theater is the premier performance space on the island hosting music of all genres, dance, theater productions, movies, seminars and community meetings. Check here for complete information on upcoming events.
The Hangout
Our Hangout upstairs offers an informal gathering place for meetings, reading, pool, board games, video games, TV, using our community PCs and printer, and … just hanging out. Also there are studios for the community’s radio station…our very own WVBI-The Voice of Beaver Island.
