A stellar September has included some incredible summer-type weather here on Beaver Island, making the transition to the Island’s Fall schedule seem surreal. While everyone adjusts their hours of operations, including the BIC Center, Fall and Winter activities begin to emerge. The Charlevoix County Commission on Aging’s monthly Sunday Dinners return this Sunday, September 24th starting at 11am with a delectable dinner provided by Dalwhinnie and featuring door prizes, special treats and renewed Island fellowship after a busy summer. Pickleball returns with a special ‘orientation’ meeting for interested newcomers scheduled for Thursday, 9/28 at 7pm. ‘Open-play’ is available on Tues, Wed & Thurs, and ‘group-play’ (meaning ‘come even if you don’t have a partner/team’) on Tues & Thurs 9:30-11am. And of course, movies are featured at 3pm & 7pm on Saturdays; the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program at 10am on Tuesdays and Fridays; Games Galore on Thursdays at 1pm; and Computer ‘One-on-One’ with the ‘Computer Doctor’ Pat Bonadeo on Tuesdays from 10am-12pm.
